About Musangu River Camp

Musangu River Camp is one of the most exclusive lodges in Zambia. Situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, this luxurious venue is the perfect retreat for couples and families who wish to relax, fish and enjoy the abundant wildlife.

Established by a private family in conjunction with a leading design team,Musangu River Camp combines5* luxury with a tranquil ‘home from home’ atmosphere. The whole lodge has been styled to create an ambience that is calming, clean and in harmony with nature.  The 6 air-conditioned chalets comprise a double room with king size bed and an adjoining twin room, perfect for families. The generous decks offer spectacular views across the Zambezi. Spacious bathrooms lead out to an enclosed garden, complete with private spa pool and outdoor shower.

The Baobab is the appropriate name for the communal building at the very heart of the lodge. Built on two floors, there is ample space for a large family to get-together, but clever design means that there are also secluded areas to relax in peace. The Baobab includes an entertainment area with full home theater facilities, pool table and even board games and even a popcorn machine. Comfortable day beds on the elevated wings of the building are the perfect place to read a book, look out for hippos or just soakup the sun. The swimming pool area is arguably the finest in the whole Zambezi Valley, featuring a large adult pool, childrens’ pool and even a shady in-pool dining area next to a waterfall rock feature.

This section of the Zambezi River is world-renowned as a fishing destination, especially for the hard fighting Tiger fish that live up to their fierce name. Musangu owns three well-equipped boats and our experienced skippers will assist you with their local knowledge of the best spots to try.Musangu River Camp is in close proximity to the Lower Zambezi National Park which is easily accessed either by vehicle or by boat, depending on the season. Elephants and hippo are often seen close to the lodge, as well as many smaller species. Birdlife is abundant, with over 400 species in the region.

The team at Musangu will cater to your dietary requirements from our kitchen which is operated on a strictly halal basis. The wood-fired pizza oven is always popular at lunchtimes. As evening falls, guests can gather next to the cosy firepit overlooking the Zambezi and enjoy the finest stars ahead of a tasty evening meal. MusanguRiver Camp– the Jewel of the Zambezi Valley
